The Gift for the Loved one that has Everything

Aren't gift cards great - they've eliminated the hassle of shopping for that person that has everything, or are they? Here's a great little video on Christmas Consumerism in America put together by a couple recently returned to the States from Africa - it's an eye opener.

Watch here

Prayers for Megan returning home from her first semester in college.

God Bless! YES!!!!

Thanks for that Kent. I have been looking for words to blog my thoughts and feelings on Christmas. My wife and I are not celebrating this year -at least not here at home. We are boycotting. We did this last year, and it was enough for a while.

We are giving to others, and we are "making something" for each other, but we have not decorated and we have no spirit for all the overblown consumerism. I for one am sick of it. I feel bloated. That disgusting feeling after having glutted at a really good BBQ joint. It is fun once, but to go do it again and again is nuts.

Your video offers some really good perspective. It really helps me. I wish we all would just get together with loved ones, invite someone who is alone or less fortunate to join you, eat eat and eat and drink and make merry. And spend all the money that would have gone to pointless gifts on the party and on the poor. What a wonderful idea.

Well, I gotta quit before I launch into a sermon. But I will link this on my blog. I hope many many many will view it. I will email the link too. I think you are on to something here...

Many blessings...

Kent,

I am trying to raise jet pack deficiency awareness this year, since it is 2007 and we still don't have them. :)

I invite you and your readers to stop by and lend your support.

Thanks, and many blessings...
